MEMORANDUM OF UNDERSTANDING BETWEEN THE PHILIPPINE SPORTS COMMISSION OF THE REPUBLIC OF THE PHILIPPINES AND THE MINISTRY OF CULTURE, SPORTS AND TOURISM OF THE REPUBLIC OF KOREA ON COOPERATION IN THE FIELD OF SPORTS
The Philippine Sports Commission of the Republic of the Philippines and The Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism of the Republic of Korea (hereinafter referred to as the "Sides"), Desiring to strengthen the existing friendly relations between the two countries and to promote mutual understanding between their peoples, mid Wishing to expand cooperation between the two countries in the field of sports on the basis of equality and mutual benefit, Have reached the following understanding:
Paragraph 1
1. This Memorandum of Understanding (hereinafter referred to as the "MOU") aims to strengthen and promote cooperation in the field of sports between the two countries on the basis of equality and mutual benefit.
2. This MOU will be carried out within the framework of the respective laws and regulations of the two countries.
Paragraph 2
The Sides will encourage the exchange of experts, specialists and technicians in the field of sports.
Paragraph 3
The Sides will endeavor to provide the necessary facilities for training of athletes of the other country, as may be jointly decided by the Sides.
Paragraph 4
The Sides will encourage the participation of experts, physicians and sport specialists in scientific seminars and conferences in the field of sports.
Paragraph 5
The Sides will encourage the exchange of sports teams, athletes and sport specialists on the basis of arrangements between the sports organizations and clubs of the two countries.
Paragraph 6
The Sides will exchange and endeavor to coordinate their views on matters related to the international sports organizations.
Paragraph 7
Cooperative activities carried out under this MOU will be subject to the availability of financial and human resources of the Sides.
Paragraph 8
1. Unless otherwise jointly decided by the Sides, the exchanges of researchers, specialists, experts, technicians and physicians under this MOU will be carried out under the following conditions:
Paragraph 9
Any dispute arising from the interpretation or implementation of this MOU will be settled through consultations between the Sides.
Paragraph 10
1. This MOU may be amended at any time by mutual written consent of the Sides.
2. Any amendment will come into effect following the same procedures as described in Paragraph 11.
Paragraph 11
1. This MOU will come into effect on the date of its signature by the Sides. This MOU will be in effect for a period of five (5) years and will be automatically renewed for consecutive period of five (5) years, unless either Side gives a written notice of termination at least six (6) months prior to the expiry date.
2. Termination of this MOU will not affect the execution of any ongoing project or cooperative activity undertaken under this MOU not yet completed at the time of termination, unless otherwise jointly decided by the Sides.
Signed in duplicate at Seoul, on the 17th day of October 2013, in the English and Korean languages, both texts being equally valid.

2. Other financial matters related to the activities under this MOU will be jointly decided through consultations between the Sides.
(a) The sending Side will be responsible for international transportation costs;(b) The host Side will be responsible for the expenses arising from the visitors' stay in the country of the host Side, including expenses for accommodation, meals, local transportation and interpretation.
