WHEREAS, Executive Order
No. (EO) 774 reorganized the Presidential Task Force on Climate
Change;
WHEREAS, EO 774, Section
19 provides that the Presidential Adviser on Climate Change shall
oversee the execution and implementation of said
EO;
NOW THEREFORE I, GLORIA M.
ARROYO, President of the Philippines, by the powers vested in
me by law, do hereby order:
Section 1.
Powers and Functions. - The Presidential Task Force on
Climate Change (PTFCC) shall:
- Formulate and develop a national climate change
framework that will integrate, consolidate and institutionalize
government initiatives to achieve synergy in the implementation of
climate change programs and
projects;
- Coordinate and review
government and official development assistance programs and
projects;
- Monitor the implementation of
climate change projects as identified in Executive Order No. 774 and
hereunder;
- Perform other functions that
may be assigned by the
President.
Section 2. Task
Group on Information. - The Task Group on Information shall
develop and coordinate a national Information, Education and
Communication Program on climate
change.
Section 3. Presidential Adviser on
Climate Change (PACC). - The PACC shall coordinate and review
government projects on adaptation and mitigation as identified in EO
774 and herein, as well as official development assistance projects on
adaptation and mitigation.
Section 4.
Repealing Clause. - All orders, rules and regulations and
issuances or parts thereof which are inconsistent with this Order are
hereby repealed, amended or modified
accordingly.
Section 5.
Effectivity. - This Order shall take effect
immediately.
