NAMING THE LOCATION OF THE BEDROOM BUILT FOR PRESIDENT FERDINAND E. MARCOS AS THE MARCOS ROOM



WHEREAS, Resolution No. 2 dated May 6, 1998 by the National Historical Institute and Presidential Decree No. 260 dated August 1, 1973, declared Malaca単ang Palace a National Historical Landmark;

WHEREAS, every past administration in the country reflects a particular period in our nation's rich history; and

WHEREAS, it is only fitting and proper that Malaca単ang Palace, residence and office of the President of the Philippines should recognize the historic connection past presidents have with Malaca単ang Palace.

NOW, THEREFORE, I, GLORIA MACAPAGAL-ARROYO, President of the Philippines, by virtue of the authority vested in me by law, do hereby name the location of the bedroom in Malaca単ang Palace built for President Ferdinand E. Marcos, as the Marcos Room, in recognition of the historic value of the room in which he stayed, thereby serving as a tangible reminder of President Ferdinand E. Marcos' administration.

IN WITNESS WHEREOF, I have hereunto set my hand and caused the seal of the Republic of the Philippines to be affixed.

DONE in the City of Manila, this 11th day of September, in the year of Our Lord, Two Thousand and Three.
